Collegiate Partners

Supporting Student Health, Safety, and Wellbeing

TXFNE partners with colleges, universities, and campus health centers across Texas to help ensure students have access to specialized forensic healthcare services when they are needed most.

Experiencing violence can be overwhelming, particularly for students who may be away from home, navigating unfamiliar resources, or unsure where to turn for help. Through collaboration with colleges and universities, TXFNE helps expand access to timely, confidential, trauma-informed forensic healthcare services in a supportive environment.

Together, we help support student health, safety, and wellbeing while ensuring access to specialized care, resources, and support services.

How We Work Together

TXFNE supports colleges and universities through:

• Medical forensic examinations

• Evidence collection and preservation

• Injury documentation and photography

• Strangulation assessments

• Human trafficking assessments

• Referrals to advocacy and support services

• Student education and awareness initiatives

• Campus resource fairs and outreach events

• Professional education and training opportunities

• Collaboration with campus health, Title IX, and student affairs professionals

Why It Matters

Students who experience violence often face unique challenges when seeking care and support.

Access to specialized forensic healthcare services can help students address immediate medical needs, preserve evidence if desired, understand available options, and connect with advocacy and support resources.

Forensic healthcare services are available regardless of a student's ability to pay. There is no cost to the student for forensic nursing services, helping remove financial barriers to care during a difficult time.

By working together, colleges, universities, campus health centers, advocacy organizations, and forensic healthcare providers help create safer, more supportive environments for students.

Supporting Safer Campus Communities

Colleges and universities play an important role in creating environments where students feel supported, informed, and connected to resources when they need them most. Through collaboration with campus health centers, Title IX professionals, student affairs teams, and community partners, TXFNE helps strengthen access to specialized forensic healthcare services and survivor-centered support.

Specialized Forensic Healthcare Expertise

Students have access to experienced forensic nurse examiners trained to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care following violence, abuse, exploitation, and other forms of trauma.

Campus Collaboration

TXFNE works alongside campus health centers, Title IX offices, counseling services, advocacy organizations, and student affairs professionals to support coordinated care and informed decision-making.

Education & Prevention

Through outreach events, resource fairs, educational programming, and professional training opportunities, TXFNE helps increase awareness of available services and support resources.
